Mum & Me in Antalya: Our All-Inclusive Weekend Getaway
When Mum and I decided we desperately needed an escape from the endless grey of winter, Antalya seemed like the perfect sunny remedy—especially since we stumbled across an irresistible last-minute deal. For just £306 each, flights and an all-inclusive stay at Lara Beach were booked, promising warmth, relaxation, and quality mother-daughter time.
Why Antalya and an All-Inclusive?
Antalya's unseasonably warm weather in early March instantly caught our attention—temperatures reached a blissful 30 degrees during the day, perfect for lounging by the pool. Evenings were cooler at around 15 degrees, but a jacket made it comfortable enough to sit outside. Choosing an all-inclusive option was mainly budget-driven, ensuring no unexpected expenses beyond transfers to and from the airport.
Why Liberty Lara Beach Hotel?
We chose Liberty Lara Beach based on glowing reviews from blogs, TripAdvisor, and TikTok—and because it was just a 20-minute transfer from Antalya airport. Our first impression was fantastic; we were greeted with a delightful "Would you like a glass of champagne?"—which, frankly, should be mandatory at every hotel! The open-plan lobby was spacious, stylish, and inviting.
Our room was simple yet comfortable, providing all the essentials: a cozy bed, small balcony, fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a decent shower. It was everything we needed for a short, restful break.
Dining & Drinks
Being out of peak season had its pros and cons. Many snack bars and additional restaurants were closed, meaning all meals were served in the main buffet dining room. Personally, I find repeatedly dining in the same spot monotonous, and being somewhat picky, dinners could be challenging. However, lunches offered better choices, and the cocktails available throughout the day and evening were excellent—definitely a highlight.
Relaxation & Sunshine
Our main activity was blissfully simple: lounging by the pool. Although waterslides and certain amenities were closed during our stay, the resort thoughtfully heated one of the pools in November and March, which was greatly appreciated. Pure relaxation was the theme, and we soaked up every sunny moment.
Exploring Lara Beach
We briefly explored outside the resort one evening. Lara Beach itself is limited, primarily filled with shops selling traditional Turkish knock-offs. For more variety—shops, restaurants, and bars—it would require a quick taxi ride or about a 40-minute walk.
Perfect for a Mother-Daughter Weekend?
Liberty Lara Beach and Antalya were ideal for our last-minute weekend getaway. It delivered exactly what we wanted: a hassle-free, budget-friendly escape close to the airport. It was a wonderful way to relax, reconnect, and enjoy each other's company.
Travel Tip: If visiting this time of year, pack layers! Days are beautifully warm, but evenings can be chilly.
Would I do another all-inclusive weekend? Definitely—but I'll stick to short stays to keep it feeling fresh and special. Three nights felt just right for an all-inclusive getaway; any longer might have made the buffet-style dining monotonous. I'd happily return to Lara Beach solo too, as I felt safe and well looked after.
